Fall is such a fabulous time because there are so many exciting things you can do with your family. Some of them are low cost or even free…. picking out pumpkins, Apple picking , or walking in the fall leaves. Nobody said it better than Anne of Green Gables: ”I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers” – and I can’t agree more!! October is truly the most fabulous time of year!

Fall bucket list
There are so many amazing fall activities this season. Sometimes it’s hard to squeeze them all in and before you know it the season has already passed, so I made a little list of some great fall activities we like to do with our family.

  • Picking the perfect pumpkin at Anna‘s, of course!
  • Carving pumpkins
  • Roasting pumpkin seeds
  • Decorating the front porch
  • Gorging on pumpkin spice Timbits
  • Lighting fall candles
  • Apple picking
  • Making candy apples
  • Baking apple pie
  • Drinking homemade apple cider
  • Watch a spooky movie
  • Drink a delicious pumpkin spice latte
  • Rake the leaves and jump in them
  • Read Halloween books
  • Make Halloween costumes
  • Roast marshmallows in the campfire
  • Go on a hayride

Make sure you cross at least a few of these off your list before the weather gets too cold.  It happens to me every year…I always want to wait until the weather’s cool to pick apples and by the time it is, the apples have all been picked!

The fall photo challenge
I made a little list of some great autumn memories you’ll want to take photos of! Before you know it you will have a bunch of beautiful memories of the season before it’s over.

  1. Apple picking
  2. Boots in the leaves
  3. Pet photoshoot
  4. Homemade pie
  5. Corn maze
  6. Fall decor
  7. The migrating birds or butterflies
  8. Cozy socks
  9. Flowering Mums
  10. Fall mug
  11. Cozy fireplace or bonfire
  12. Old barn

There are so many great fall things you can do or photograph this season.
Even if you don’t feel up to going apple picking or on a hayride there are so many great other fall activities like just raking the leaves in your own backyard to put you in the festive autumn mood. Don’t forget to jump in your leaf pile just once…you’ll feel silly and that’s the best part!

Autumn is such a wonderful season but some years I feel I blink and we miss it, the weather goes from being hot to winter coats before you know it! This season make sure you take a walk or a bike ride and watch the beautiful leaves changing colour before it’s over.  What fun fall activities are you looking forward too?
